have been quiet lately, but we have a fabulous March planned!
Many of you may have noticed the
cleaning frenzy that has been going on at Knitting off Broadway! Spring
cleaning early means benefits for you! Our sale section is near bursting, and
new items keep being added. Right now we are featuring many discontinued colors
in fabulous Fibre Company yarns. We also have some linen odds and ends on sale
from various vendors. In the entryway, we have hundreds of patterns to offer
you for free from Mountain Colors, Yarns on Stage, Penny Straker, Pear Tree,
Fickle Knitter and more! After being in business for so many years, it is
amazing how things accumulate!
Our Koigu Cloak Knit-a-long is going well;
we have had new
people sign up for this year- long adventure! Natalie and others have now
decided to complete one cube five days a week to meet their final goal. We all
decided it is much easier to keep the momentum going- you actually
memorize the simple cube! In April they are going to relax and work 22
simple half triangles that go on the very bottom edges of the cloak. In May,
the complex cubes will begin! It was so fun to see how the different color
palettes are working up!
The Marie Wallin Fair Isle Club II is becoming
more and more lovely as the months go on. Four months are now complete, and if
you would like to join in the fun, we do have kits left. There are still a few
spaces left in Marie's digital edition KAL. Natalie is really enjoying this project,
and has decided to
knit two... one for her parents and one for her husband in burly yarn
We just got in 250+ new
buttons styles! Our favorite button distributor just went through a big
transition, and we are thrilled to see all the new buttons they now have to
offer us! Jan and Natalie spent 2 hours ordering buttons at the trade show in
January. (Actually Jan had to sit down and rest while Natalie continued to go
crazy ordering!) Stop in and see what they chose! We have fancy resin covered
coconut, found antler, metal, kids buttons, large horn buttons and more! We did
get in many plain styles, as well as leather knots, to complete every project
you could ever dream up! The new buttons are really inspirational- they make us
want to start new projects to accentuate the buttons!
Want to know if others are knitting what you are knitting? Then check out the knitting community at Ravelry.com. It is free to join, and well worth it! You can search groups and projects. See what all Natalie and the staff at Knitting Off Broadway have been knitting. Natalie's user- name is knittily, Tami's is knittler, and don't forget to join the Knitting off Broadway group!

If you are a sock knitter, you must stop in! We have an incredible selection of sock yarn, wooden sock needles, and all the latest sock knitting books.
We now have a group on Ravelry! What is Ravelry you ask? It is a website for knitters, by knitters. It's a great place to get inspiration, see what everyone is knitting, check for pattern errors or send/view questions to someone who has knitted a project already! You do need to sign up, but it's free and worth it! (http://www.ravelry.com)
These adorable kits are suitable for the advanced beginner. Each kit includes directions for knitting in the round, or back and forth. These precious patterns are sold only in the kits.
Collect them all! We already have Emile in the store; Natalie still needs to assemble her Marcel and Lisette! Ruth is taking Hector with her on vacation! What fun little friends!
